Grand Master Raymond Weston

Grand Master Raymond Weston is a 9th Degree Black Belt and Chief Instructor of the Gye Nyame Ryu System. He began his Martial Arts training in 1978, at the legendary Atlantic Avenue Dojo of Dr. Moses Powell. Grand Master Weston learned the Art under the instruction of Soke Adam Battle, with whom he trained for over forty years. He is a member of the Christian Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Soke Battle and Grand Master Weston shared a bond of brotherhood, forged through the rigors of training, that can never be broken.

Designated by Soke Battle as his successor, Grand Master Weston seeks to pass on the knowledge that has been given to him. He believes that the Spiritual, Mental and Physical discipline demanded by the Martial Arts prepares it's practitioners for life in a way that is unmatched by any other discipline.

Additionally, Grand Master Weston holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Rutgers University GSAPP, and has studied as a National Institute Of Health Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the areas of HIV/AIDS and Cancer. He is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences of Brooklyn College, CUNY.
